On Aug. 2, Bill C-93 came into force across Canada, which is an act that’ll provide no-cost, expedited pardons for people previously charged with the simple possession of cannabis.
Justice Minister David Lametti made the announcement in Montreal on Aug. 2. Individuals’ criminal records could be wiped out, but only if it’s just for simple possession of cannabis.
Cannabis became legalized in Canada on Oct. 17, 2018.
